SHARP SHOWCASES SLEEK AND STYLISH HIGH DEFINITION PLASMA TVS
Demonstrating its commitment to driving the future of high-tech,
high-style products, Sharp Electronics Corporation will be showcasing
its High Definition Plasma TVs at its Dealer Line Show.
The 43-inch (PZ-43HV2U) and the 50-inch (PZ-50HV2U) Plasma TVs
combine an elegant design with the excitement of HDTV compatibility,
a newly developed panel, widescreen viewing, high brightness,
and an ultra high contrast ratio (830:1).
Additionally, these plasma televisions are true native XGA displays
with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 160 degree viewing angles. The sleek
form of the PZ-43HV2U and PZ-50HV2U easily complements the decor
of most living rooms and home theaters.
The products’ unique and separate AVC (Audio Video Computer)
system – which houses all inputs and outputs, including
a PC connection – reduces the clutter of cables around the
panel itself. At just about four inches deep, these TVs can be
wall-mounted or placed on a table utilizing the included custom
designed stand. Both models are compatible with Sharp’s
existing optional wall mount brackets, providing seamless wall-mount
installation.
“Sharp’s High Definition Plasma Televisions provide
an exceptionally high quality picture, two built-in TV tuners,
high performance detachable speakers, and a sleek, modern design
that fits with any decor,” said Tony Favia, senior marketing
manager, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “We are extremely
proud to offer such a high performance and high design product
that will be a beautiful addition to our customers’ homes.”
The PZ-43HV2U and PZ-50HV2U produce a full 720p high-definition
image when connected to a DTV decoder or other HDTV source. With
the convenience of a built-in two-tuner picture-in-picture, viewers
can also enjoy watching conventional NTSC television entertainment
on cutting-edge plasma technology. With the included speaker system
and SRS® Focus™ surround sound, these plasma TVs will
produce superior audio quality. Sharp’s proprietary Computer
& Video Integrated Composer (CV-IC) technology optimizes the
film or video content for enhanced viewing through two key scaling
processes: advanced Interlaced-to-Progressive (I/P) conversion
and enhanced 3:2 pulldown. These sophisticated processes provide
optimal conversion of Interlaced signals to the Progressive format,
and allow for the most accurate reproduction of film-based content,
creating a truly cinematic experience.
Model PZ-50HV2U also received the International CES Innovations
2002 Design and Engineering Showcase Award, indicating that this
model leads the industry in style and performance.
