Samsung Plasma TV up to 80-inches
Samsung Plasma TVs continue to push the widescreen boundaries with
the unveiling of the worlds first 80" plasma display. The 80"
Samsung plasma tv has a native resolution of 1920x1080 making it
compatible with today's highest HDTV standard.
Even if you have the $30,000 it's expected to cost to spare, you
can't run out and buy this Samsung plasma tv just yet - it's not
expected to appear on the market until 2005. Even then it's expected
to be a commercial version aimed at the digital signage market in
casinos, airports, train stations and conference centers.
The good news is that in developing the 80" samsung plasma
display the manufacturer acquired multi panel production technologies
which should result in the price of smaller screens falling.
For those of you who can't wait that long, there are currently
Samsung tvs in 63", 50" and 42" screen sizes available
at prices under $3000. Umm, let me see, that means I could have
10 of the small ones for one of the big ones!!!!
Another first due later this year is the HPP5091, a 50" Samsung
plasma tv that boasts 802.11a wireless connectivity. All the DVD,
STB, VCR and speaker cables are connected to a remote unit which
streams video and audio to your plasma display. Leaving it with
only a power cable to conceal
